Words: 423 / Pages: 2 .... symbolize money and it’s power in society. Money rules the lives of the people in the story. Gatsby needs money to live the life that he does. Gatsby also feels he needs the money to get back together with Daisy.
The green light can both symbolize envy and money; however, the most reasonable meaning would have to be one of future hope, especially in Gatsby’s case. The use of a green light at the end of a landing stage to signal a romantic reunion, is similar to the green light at the end of Daisy's dock, which becomes a key image in The Great Gatsby. The initial appearance of the green light occurs when Nick sees Gatsby for the first time, stan .....

Machiavelli puts himself and his argument in a position of power. He wastes
no time in using this power to gain more control over the reader. In the

that there were important families such as the Carrier, Jacobs, Proctor,

being hurt by witches and they banded together against the accused.
The predicament in this story was that events such as a bad crop season
of the girls being bewitched needed to be explained. To say that
"witchcraft" is the answer the these questions. The unfortunate
circumstance for some of the accused witches/wizards was that some of them
had admitted to such crimes. The girls had fits and calling outs that
didn't benefit them either.
