Billy shows his innocence by how he can not judge how anyone would thrive we they are loathed by so many others, like Claggart does. Billy also shows a resemblance towards a Christ figure, by his ignorance of what goes around him. He ponders why so many people abominate Claggart? James Joyce's writing style is evidently different from most writers. After reading "The Dead", it became apparent that Gabriel Conroy from the short story had a few similarities to that of James Joyce. Could it be that the beginning of the story in "The Dead" was for James Joyce to develop his characters? Or was it just to develop the character Gabriel Conroy? Nonetheless, the similarities between Joyce and Conroy is their way of thinking, intelligence, and feelings towards their homeland. One similarity between .....

Though some goddesses, like Ino, help mortals reach places, others, such as Hermes, warn them against danger. Hermes gives Odysseus advice on how to avoid danger. As if reaching the land of Circe isn't hard enough, now Odysseus must find a way to get his men back from her. The person to help .....

The rocking horse would tell Paul who the winner of the race would be. Paul and his uncle Oscar used this information to gamble on horss and were able to win piles of money. This money he gave anomously to his mother to use for anything that was needed. it was one night that Paul was riding his horse at full speed when suddenly a blaze of light hit him up. He screamed, "Malabar!" Then he fell off with a crash that would put him into unconsciousness; he never did recover from that fall .....

What I did not know was that my life would be altered forever and that my outlook on the world would seemingly change. My eyes fixated on the movie screen, while my heart, soul, and mind slowly began to wander into the life of a murderer, but more importantly, a human-being. Dead Man Walking truly captivated my conscience and made me think about the controversial standing of Capital Punishment. The movie appropriately portrayed two sides of the coin.
