Words: 440 / Pages: 2 .... I've seen
Playboys. I've seen at least a gajillion R rated movies, and I can walk into any
store in Connecticut and buy some M rated video games. You know why? No one
cares anymore. They're as desensitized as we are, and that's a good thing. It is
a sad fact that we find violence so entertaining, but hell, it is. I freaking
love to see movies where there are more scenes of mindless violence than there
are actual scenes of acting. These movies are aimed at the lowest common
denominator because intelligent movie goers are as extinct as the Dodo bird.
Movies like Showgirls make more money than Panther because they are more fun,
not because they are be .....

Curfews
Words: 710 / Pages: 3 .... into criminals: it is obvious they need to be thrown into societies trash bag, never to be used again.
Parents have plenty of things to worry about when it comes to their children: if they smoke, if they’re hanging out with the wrong crowd, or if they are getting good enough grades. With all these worries, it seems nonsensical to throw one more worry on the already large pile of worries parents have to deal with. “My kids are home-schooled,” complains mother Tiana Hutchinson, “I shouldn’t have to worry about them getting arrested every time I send them outside to play.” (“Do You Know Where Your Children Are?” 4).
Parents aren’t .....

Underage Drinking: A Big Problem
Words: 1055 / Pages: 4 .... choice" (Frerking). Because underage drinking is such a problem in today's
society, measures must be taken to reduce the problem.
One solution to the problem of underage drinking is to lower the
drinking age from 21 years down to 18 or 19 years. At first glance, this seems
like a good idea because a large portion of underage drinkers, mainly college
students, would now no longer be underage and would be able to drink legally.
Problem solved, or is it? According to Reginald Smart, in 1971 the Canadian
province of Ontario lowered its drinking age from 21 years to 18 years, thinking
this would help alleviate its underage drinking problem. At first .....

Without question these social units formed by gay men and lesbians constitute families.
Homosexual parents are not a negative attribute and is as moral and virtuous as heterosexual families ; therefore, the desire to be a parent is not only for heterosexuals.
Gays, like non-gays, are often inclined toward parenthood. Don Clark, a gay father and clinical psychologist, assessed the relationships between sexual orientation and fathers’ childbearing attitudes and behaviors. He also explored fathers’ self-assessment of their perform .....

Let Me Decide: The Right To Die
Words: 841 / Pages: 4 .... more emotionally painful to let a loved one die, than it is for the dying to leave their loved ones behind. The dying have accepted their illness or situation and are aware of their impending death.
I do not think I would want to be kept alive by machines if I was in a terrible accident, or suffered an incurable disease. I do know that I would not want to feel pain or discomfort. The lecture brought back some bad memories. A few years ago I found it most difficult to hear about the invasive test and procedures performed on my grandmother when everyone involved knew she had stomach cancer and it had spread to her bladder. It seemed cruel to insi .....

The Pressure To Be Perfect
Words: 718 / Pages: 3 .... just how much emphasis is placed on
outer appearance.
A major factor that has increased the percentage of overweight people in society
is technology. This includes items such as elevators, escalators, garage-door
openers, drive-in windows, and the remote control. It use to be that you would
at least burn some calories by having to get up and turn the channel on the
television, but thanks to technology it is now a push of a button. Just think,
things have the possibility to grow increasingly worse because of the
'information super highway'. There is no need to get out and walk the malls in
search of a particular item or gift. With the use of the .....

Europeans were able to dominate and later oppress the Native American culture
