The drug penalties are more harsh than other worse crimes. Why should someone in the possession of an ounce of cocaine be given more time in jail than a rapist, or murderer? At least if you commit those crimes you can have the chance to appeal and get out on good behavior. Seriously what can be the good of keeping these laws?
