The whole boycott started when Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of the bus when the bus- driver told her to move so a white customer could sit down. She was arrested and put in jail for sitting in the front of the bus. Four days after, the black people of Montgomery and the people from other races organized and promoted a boycott of the city bus line.
