The controversial novel, The Catcher in the Rye, first appeared in
1951. Jerome David Salinger created a literary masterpiece by fabricating
the adolescent Holden Caulfield into a victim of society. This modernistic
category of hero delights nearly all modern English literature supporters.

Even after the inquiry and the treatment, the questions remain unanswered,
and Holden invariably suffers from lack of love.
