"Good morning class," said Mrs. Elmers. "This year we have two new students joining us, Colin and Fred." I looked over and saw another student with his head down. I assumed it was Fred.
At lunch I met up with Fred. I introduced myself and we started hanging out together. We started doing things ....

.... I felt sorry for having alienated him. As we departed we, promised we would get together over the summer. I called him once or twice, but we were unable to get together. When I entered grade ten, I found I was making more new friends, forgetting about Fred. Later I had found Fred had buried himself with crime, getting into a lot of trouble.
One day I saw Fred sitting on a bench by himself. I approached him with an uneasy walk..... " Fred..," I said.
" Colin!" he exclaimed. We talked ....
