Both Antigone and Medea had men they had to overcome in their quest for what they believed was right. Antigone’s main opponent is her uncle Creon. All she wants to do is give her brother, Polynices, a proper burial. Because Polynices was fighting to overtake Thebes, Creon makes a law against his burial; he wants Polynices body to rot in open air. “ No, he must be left unburied, his corpse carrion for the birds and dogs to tear, an obscenity for the citizens to behold!” ....
