Personal Writing: My Friend's Death From AIDS
Words: 403 / Pages: 2 .... is spent, and not
the amount that is important. The leading scientists in this area have
stated that they are in very early stages of a long-term project. If you
double the amount of money set aside for research, you will not find a cure
in half the time. The billions that are currently allocated to AIDS
research are sufficient if they are used properly. I would try to put
pressure on the legislators to have a bill passed that would define the
ways money should be spent, and to monitor the progress of finding a cure
for this deadly disease.
Second and more importantly is the matter of education. AIDS is not
just a gay issue, it is a problem that .....

He said he had better get going, but Mrs. Jones objected saying "You stay right here until the storm clears." He said he couldn't possibly impose himself. He then turned back to the memory or him walking across that cold muddy field. He shuddered. Mrs. Jones broke into his thoughts and said he could walk to the neighbors the next morning, she said "They only live a few miles down the road and Bob can drive you." He accepted gracefully, and said he would be out of the house at the crack of dawn. They s .....

Personal Writing: My Grandmother
Words: 739 / Pages: 3 .... grandmother always sat in the kitchen of her house. This is
where she would drink her hot black coffee with no sugar and smoke her
Virginia Slim cigarettes. She would sometimes sit in her kitchen for hours
upon end and watch the ducks and the geese swimming by on the river and if
it were warm enough outside she would crumble up some bread and feed it a
little at a time to them.
In the summer time my grandmother and whoever happened to be at the
house would sit out on the sundeck for hours and talk about anything and
everything imaginable; she was known as the neighborhood gossip queen. The
sundeck was a place for everyone to sit and relax in the .....

Books; Life Long Friends
Words: 771 / Pages: 3 .... reminded me
a bit of Belle. Belle had a profound effect on me in childhood as well as
later on in life. She was my finest friend throughout grammar and Junior High
school. We fancied relishing our lunches together. Laughing about the boys'
wicked ways and planning our revenge at the ensuing recess. This always made
lunch go by so swiftly. It was hard to tear us apart. Hell, it was hard to
tell us apart. We were both round bodied and a bit out of shape. But I always
saw Belle in a jovial light. She had a merry way about her, and her laugh was
infectious; it reminded me if Christmas bells, tingly, jingling and warm. I
miss her. She was ha .....

Personal Writing: An-Yang
Words: 651 / Pages: 3 .... yelling "An-yang!!"(grandmother) all the way. She would yell in
a similar fashion "Ah! Shua- nging!" (ah, children!) Smells of old-
fashioned Shanghainese cooking would assail my senses, as my mouth watered
in anticipation of the savories to come.
One particular afternoon, after we had finished eating, we draped ourselves
around her living room. I was sitting on a dilapidated couch, whose colors
were made indiscernible by time, and was looking around her room. My gaze
swept from the thin, worn carpet, bare in some places, to the scarred
wooden dresser, to a dirty doll with an eye missing. (My grandmother could
never bear to throw anything awa .....

Creative Writing: A Day At The Park
Words: 530 / Pages: 2 .... a sudden my phone rings, and it was my
mother-in-law "wondering" if I wanted a couple of free view box tickets and a
parking pass, for that nights Ranger game. I couldn't have been more excited,
much less believe my luck.
After I got off work , and picked up the tickets, I raced home to get
my wife and son ready to go. Over the next half hour, I almost regretted
having to bring my son, what with the hassle of getting the diaper bag packed ,
the traffic, and fighting the crowds while pushing a stroller. It was hectic,
but I survived.
Finally we were situated and ready for the game. The singing of the
national anthem was finished and we we .....

that night while eating dinner I decided the next morning I would go back to the
crime scene to check for clues. The next morning I called Mr. Machiano and
asked him to meet me at the palazzo. As I approached the body I began to feel a
little queasy from last night's dinner but luckily I brought some herbal tea to

hoping to find some clues. I noticed a gold bracelet on the ground near the
body, and it read Montrsor. I decided to do a little more research on this man.
I went to the station and asked the secretary to show me the file on any person

beautiful wife and daughter. He did not have the luck of being at the lab when
the reality-cam was finished, the idea that gave Joel his claim to fame. If it
would have been Kyle working that shift maybe things would be different. Kyle
was a loner, and a struggling loner at that. "Good morning Kyle," said Joel.
